I would say it is easy for girls, they have a half way point, ie topless, and once they have gone topless what does that tiny triangular piece of cloth actually cover when you think about it? nothing much so a lot easy to whip of the bottoms. Also as mentioned earlier girls tend to be more comfortable with each other naked, sitting around talking while getting changed and in the showers where as males tend to wrap a towel around themselves at the first opportunity. girls will also talk about they body parts to each other even feeling each other breasts etc and this is considered normal, imagine if blokes talked about their dangly bits and touched each other like women do.

It was a female who got me to try naturism and she had been nude on holidays and beaches whilst growing up. She thought it was easier for girls as at the time we were in our late teens and men sometimes were judged for being voyuers, often unfairley.

I think it is certainly true that a teenage male naturist is an exception rather than the rule.

Not at my club. We have had two teenage boys who are members, one is 17 and the other is 18. There have never been any teenage girls at my club even though it is open to everyone. The 18 year old boy (who is openly gay) eventually decided to resign from it when they started putting limitations on single guys in order to get more females participating, even though they had no intention of singling him out.

guys are more likely to want to try nudism. however, guys are also more likely to be thought of as sexual beings, so its easier for people to accept a girl to be a nudist than a guy; people are more likely to think that guys are doing it because of sexual reasons.

here's an article on jess's page about it:

This article link is no longer activated. Its because yahoo had to shut down geocities :( I wonder what ever has happened to Jessie and wish that there would be an updated of her

I remember starting up a topic on a different (textile)forum ages ago about naturism. The only conclusion people really came to was that "naturism is fine for girls, but for guys it is an excuse to gawk", which I think is horrendously unfair but I didn't argue about it much because I was a lot younger and a lot less confident back then.

While I'm not saying it is easier for a girl, anything but, I think in terms of acceptance that perhaps a girl naturist is seen more as being the "genuine article", while a male one may be viewed with greater suspicion...if that makes sense?

Girls are too self-conscious about body image, but who can blame them when rags like The Sun exist? I don't think I've ever met a girl who has been happy with their own body and it is irritating that girls who quite clearly are beautiful (the vast majority, it has to be said) say; "I'm too fat, breasts are too small, I've got a weird nose, etc.". This has led me to suspect that some girls fish for compliments from time to time.

Most guys aren't nearly as self-conscious so I reckon it is easier for us to get naked in the fist place. However, I think the textile community will see a female naturist and won't find it hard to understand that nudity does not equal sex. When they see a male naturist there is immediately a conclusion drawn that they are there for sex and lusting. They may eventually realise that most male naturists, single or otherwise are there simply because they enjoy being naked but it will take longer.

Girls probably do have a higher degree of self-consciousness when it comes to their body. And as you said, it's not surprising when all models, commercial women, etc. has 'a perfect body' that is unnaturally slim and modified a few times. If, especially young, girls see this to much then they most likely will get the image that they must look like that to be 'beautiful'. If this is 100% true I don't know, but I do think it has some connection to the self-consciousness of girls.
I've met many girls who say they are to fat or have some other flaws, but I tend to point out that they are not what they think they are. I also tend to tell them that real beauty comes from the inside, and not from their outer looks.

Guys might not be as self-conscious as girls, but I think we don't think about it as much as girls do. So that could explain why guys mostly have it easier to get naked.

Why aren't I surprised with this response? Naked girls is more than alright to see, while naked guys aren't. Girls can be naked just for the fun of it and relax, but guys can't do that without it being something sexual included with it. It's been like that for some time, but hopefully it can change in the future. =/
