I had my first experience on a nudist beach 2 days ago. I hadn't told anyone I planned it, but I have told 3 people after the event, 2 are not local (although I am in daily contact with 1 of those via phone/text) the 3rd is a long time friend. He laughed then said hats off to me for having the bravery. Can't tell family as they were shocked when they found out I had a small tattoo so this'd give them heart attacks!

Just make sure you're in their wills first.

I think it might be better to check that you are not in their wills. That way, you can't be taken out.

Hmmm, my mum has already earlier given all us children of hers a lump sum of money. I call it an early inheritance as she aint dead yet (and wont be for quite some time I hope) but she had a lump sum in an account and decided we'd only get it when she died so we may as well have it now! Don't you love people with that attitude? Means I got a great car to take me to the beach, and who knows after tonight at the pub maybe someone to be passenger and put sun tan lotion in the bits I can't reach, I have a strange looking back, the factor 30 kept my shoulders white but most of my back I couldn't reach is red!

Anyway to get back to theme if the girl I met in the pub is game I may have to tell someone else too! Phew that was close I wouldn't want to go off topic!

I just told someone else, which I will write about tomorrow in my diary. I'm waiting to see what would happen, because when I told her, she jumped at the chance to try it.

My wife and I are staying in a B&B while we attend the jazz weekend at the Naturist Foundation. This morning, we had two conversations, one each with the wife and husband, about what we were planning to do today. The wife knew the owner of the Naturist Foundation slightly, and neither were horribly shocked to hear where we were going. Not much reaction, either way.

The only one I've actually told so far is one of my friends and she doesn't mind that I'm a nudist.

The chap we live with accepts my nudity in the morning. He does not seem entirely comfortable with it, but has never said anything directly about it - only warning me if anyone is due to call round.

A few weeks ago, I sent him an email saying I would very much like to be naked around the house more often, especially during the Summer. Did he have any problems with or objections to this? An email may seem odd, but in context it is often the easiest way to communicate.

No reply as yet. I think I'll take this as a tacit agreement.

Our friends usually call before stopping by and it has always been that way so it isn't my wife tipping them off to warn us. Anyway, I had just returned home from work and was in the basement, my wife had slipped into shorts and top to water the plants along the street. One of her best friends saw her so ran over to get her help with a family problem so without thinking, as she later admitted, led her into the house. It was then that she realized that there was no way around the fact that she would have to tell her that we were often nude in the house and that in fact I was nude at the moment. She answered that her husband loved to run around the house naked and it wouldn't bother her. I was summoned upstairs to find her friend in the living room, and I don't know who was shocked more, and sat at the computer to arrange for an airline ticket so she could attend to her family. Now I wonder what will happen on her return home.

I went to Leysdown beach earlier, unaware it was also their airshow today. So I told all the stewards trying to shepherd me into a car park that I was going to the beach-it's at the end of a long unmade road so they all knew which beach I meant.

I mentioned something that had happened on a naturist beach to someone at work, to whom I had previously mentioned that I had been nude on beaches. Turns out they thought I had been joking....

The degree to which I will tell someone depends on my perception of there degree of possible acceptance If I think they will accept the term nudist then I will use it. If I think they will accept me saying that I would get naked in a certain situation then I will say it...

As an update to the friend who dropped in unexpectedly a while ago, all her family matters worked out for the best and she has returned home. She called this morning and said " don"t bother getting dressed, just have coffee on". Soon there was a knock at the back door and she arrived with fresh baked cinnamon rolls! Then she laid her bathrobe over the chair and sat with us nude drinking coffee and enjoying rolls! After hearing the details of her family crisis the discussion turned to nudity. Unfortunately for her she said that if she were to walk around the house naked her husband would assume that she was enticing him but she is enjoying alone time nude house cleaning and wondered why she had not thought of that earlier. I guess we made another convert.

Just to add to yesterdays post,then any more comments will be moved to my diary. Last night the wife and I had a discussion about the friends visit yesterday. I don't know if I ever mentioned that my better half is not comfortable in nude social situations; and I respect her and understand, so she was a bit uncomfortable with the situation even though the two had been friends since childhood. Anyway, she is trying to find a way to delicately tell her that as much as we like to be nude ( especially in this heat wave) we (she) is not comfortable in a social setting. I told her that this may have just been a one time thing as she may have wanted to test the waters so to speak and considering her comment about her husband I don't think it will progress into a nude couples situation. Anyway, I may be asking for your input if things escalate.

Not so much telling someone, but this seemed like the best place to post it....

I found out today that my brother essentially knows that I'm a nudist. Seems he's picked up on my hints. Basically, we were walking back from the chippy, and I was pondering on how Wiccans practice their rituals. More specifically, whether his friend, who's into that sort of thing, does it in normal clothes, robes or skyclad.
"Skyclad?"
"Nude."
"Oh. Why didn't you say that in the first place?"
"'Cos that's how they refer to it. Clad in only the sky."
"Well, you're a closet nudist, aren't you?" Like that, pretty much out of the blue. My answer?
"Pretty much. Yeah."
Nothing more was said on the subject, mostly because I know it makes him uncomfortable, and I'd switched the subject to hoping the weather would behave itself in Cornwall over the next two weeks.
Not much, but might be a step in the right direction towards acceptance.
