I wonder whether this trend will cross the English Channel, although mostly we seem to be more influenced by trends on the other side of the Atlantic. Whilst it is not illegal to go around nude in the U.K. the deciding factor is social acceptance and unfortunately a very vocal Woke so-called elite have set them selves up ,as arbiters of what is acceptable and even what opinions we should hold!

It goes with territory. It is much easier to do naturism in France than UK. The warmer summer weather in Paris & south of that helps as well. Most naturist camping in France is available at commercial campsites rather than member’s clubs as in UK. In France you have a choice. If you are going camping or caravanning you just go to a naturist campsite instead of a textile campsite. No membership card required or membership of naturist organisation.

If there is a naturist campsite near where you live you can pay to go in as a day visitor. Families or singles are equally welcome. It is just a commercial transaction. The site wants to make money like any other business. Like the Heliomonde site south of Paris. It is a campsite & plenty of Parisians own cabins & mobile homes there & plenty more come as day visitors at the weekend. It is a facility that is available. Nothing exists like it in the UK.

Yes the French naturist demographic is younger but the younger naturists are not so much families with kids but more so couples & singles both gay & straight. Naturism is very popular with the gay community in France both couples singles & groups.

The DM article is quaint. As usual it refers to Le cap D’agde when there are 100s of much better naturist sites in France. It shows pictures from the 1980s instead of this year.

With some (most?) UK naturist clubs the difference is superficial. I was able to book a week's camping at Broadlands outside Norwich, without being a member or having to show mebership of any organisation. The only difference from a commercial campsite was that they wanted to see ID when we arrived, but that wasn't a problem. We also booked some family members in as day visitors. I gather the same applies elsewhere. There was, however, a psychological jump to make when deciding to book, and you can't just turn up without a booking.

Yes we have used both Broadlands in Norfolk & also Naturist Foundation site nr Swanley on the edge of SE London. They are indeed commercial campsites as well as clubs but as you say you do need to book. Both sites have no signposting to them unlike French naturist sites which are generally well signposted. But yes I take your point it is easy enough to find naturist venues in the UK but often in the summer the weather goes against us & to enjoy outdoor naturism you need it a bit warm & sunny.

We were In France mid June to mid Sept mostly south west. Dordogne & coast nr Bordeaux & it was warm & sunny most of the time. We done both CHM Monta & nearby Euronat sites & they were rammed. When we have used UK sites we look at the weather forecast & if favourable phone the day before we want to arrive.
