I recently bought two new CD's, which are fantastic.

"American VI: Ain't No Grave" which was the last studio recordings by Johnny Cash. Simple, pure, and real. Absolutely fantastic.

I also bought Preservation Hall Recordings, which is so wonderful. It includes artists such as Pete Seeger, Blind Boys of Alabama, Louis Armstrong and others with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The proceeds goes to benefit the Preservation Hall and their outreach program. Just glorious New Orleans Jazz

I'm so happy our son raved about them all those years ago too.

Was flipping through my Nokia playlist looking for Muse and instead stumbled on Pink Floyd - The Wall, Live. It's driving my wife nuts ;)

I haven't been playing my CD's too much lately, but I have been streaming Dallas' WRR - Classical 101.1.

WRR is the soundtrack to my workday. It's actually owned by the City of Dallas, which is something I highly approve of. The downside is that it's not commercial free. So if I want classical music at home I recommend streaming WRTI which is commercial free public radio out of Philadelphia. If you get tired of classical they also stream jazz. But for jazz I recommend instead KNTU, which is the university radio station of the University of North Texas, my old Alma mater, and is my daughter's college as well. UNT is one of the few universities in the world whose music program specializes in jazz.

It really took a long time to grow on me, but Curse Your Branches by David Bazan is on heavy rotation for me. Gymnos, I bet you'd like him...

I just got my CD of "The End Times Spasm Band" that I mentioned in my diary. Wonderful.

I'm also listening to "India" released by the Putumayo World Music, which is a collection of traditional music from India. Just amazing.
