What a gorgeous day here in Texas! Will and my mom spent the better part of the morning gardening in our back yard. We bought some new Chinese Holly and they have planted it by the back fence. Very nice. Siobhan "helped" them by digging with a plastic shovel. When they were done, I gave them all a shower with the garden hose and passed out towels before they entered the house. Hey, it's a dirty job but someone has to do it! :D

This morning was really nice for a lot of reasons. Thanks to Will, my mom and I got to spend an extra hour cuddling in bed, something we haven't done much of since Lilias came along. I know some people find it odd--I'm 29 and I still love cuddling with my mother but we have always been close. Will took good care of the girls and even brought us coffee. Yes, I am lucky.

Later, my friends Linda, Megan, and Heather will come by and we'll probably all soak for a bit. A nice Saturday.

Since I'm taking the semester off from law school, I still keep in touch with some classmates. In fact, one night per week, I usually meet some of them for drinks and dinner. Friday, Lisa (one of my study group partners) picked me up at the house and we met up with a couple of classmates. We had a very nice time and, when it was time to go, Lisa asked if she could see Lilias. Of course, I told her, but I added that i should call ahead first as Will would likely be naked. He had offered to watch the girls while I went out and my mom went to the movies with her friends. Lisa told me that there was no need to worry. She said that, when she was growing up, her father frequently took his time dressing after showers and it was, as she put it, "no big deal."

As we came through the front door, Will was playing with Siobhan, both of them nude. He had met Lisa before and, Will being Will, he just took it all in stride. The nudity really seems "no big deal" to him, either. Lisa visited for about 15 minutes, saw the baby, gave Siobhan a hug, and left. More and more, I get the idea that a lot of people are nude at home. They might not consider themselves "nudists" but I wonder if that really matters.

This morning was nice. Mom tended to Lilias while Will and I took a bubble bath with Siobhan. This is something we try to do weekly with her. It's her time with us. The bubbles make it really special for her, at least she seems to think so.

Of course it doesn't matter if they consider themselves "nudists" or not. It's just a word and everyone most likely have a different way of seeing it. The important thing is that people are learning that nudity doesn't equal sex, then if they use a word (nudist, naturist or whatever) to describe it or not is irrelevant.

My aunt has come for a visit. Well, she actually came to visit my cousin, her daughter, at the university but she's staying with us. I have always been very close to her. She's not a nudist but she's comfortable with all the nudity around here and she sleeps without clothes and will use the hot tub nude when she visits. It's always nice to have her here. She and my cousin will have dinner with us later. Will is cooking.

I'm waiting for summer. Our friends Ed and Susan came by this week and told us they are getting the pool ready for the season. We go skinny dipping with them pretty much on a weekly basis so that will probably be the case again this summer. I so enjoy swimming nude. It's hard to get me out of the water. Their daughter (who will start college this fall) has often done babysitting duties for us. I think she just likes coming over to the house and undressing. Her parents do not consider themselves nudists (despite the fact that they swim that way) and Lea often visits just so she can enjoy some naked time in the yard or around our house.

More and more, I learn that people enjoy various activities nude but do not consider themselves nudists. I mentioned that I have dinner and drinks once a week with my law school classmates, two guys and three girls. Both of the guys and two of the girls sleep nude. One of the girls is married and says her husband typically spends Saturday mornings nude at home. One of the other girls says she cleans her apartment nude. I think we nudists are often obsessed with labels and worry about who is or is not a "real nudist." What's the point? My family typically wears nothing whenever we are at home. Others have different habits. My best friend Linda is always nude when she's here and usually when she is at home. Her mother is not but that seems to work for them.

I agree with you about the labels, I've read many different arguements about "nudist" or "naturist" and I think why bother? I usually say nudist as it's shorter to type so that's my approach to the problem! As for "real" or "genuine" well if you've undressed to do something you can do dressed, then you enjoy the naked/nudeness of the activity so as far as I'm concerned call yourself what you want as you are "really" and "genuinely" unclothed through choice so what difference does someone else's words make to the situation?

Just wish we had bigger gardens in UK for hot tubs & pools!

I think its just modern society which likes to put labels on things, and therefore everybody fits nicely into certain little boxes. If you do X, Y & Z therefore you are a nudist, however we all know it is not as simple as that. Most people go nude at certain times & places, but whether this makes them a nudist or not, to be honest who cares. If people enjoy going nude then let them enjoy it, why should we want to label everything in life.

I agree with both of you. I've shared my reactions here before about going to a nudist resort with my husband. I was never so bored in my life! All those people wanted to talk about was being nude, how it's great that "nudity does not equal sex," and "look at us. We're all naked." I compare that to a place in Key West my friend Linda and I went to, not a "nudist resort," per se, but clothing optional. A much more enjoyable time as there were more interesting people and the atmosphere was much more relaxed. Now, the two of us were naked almost the whole time we were there but that was because we wanted to be. Not everyone else followed suit (or suit-less, lol) but it was all very comfortable.

I enjoy being nude. I don't care what you call me.

Exactly agree you with KC. I imagine most people here go nude at different places, different times, and with different people. Everyon here is totally different and that is what makes the world so unique. We shouldn't be looking to label people based on these different things, instead we should embrace everyone, and if someone loves to go nude then good. It doesn't matter where they go nude, when they go nude, or who they go nude with. Just let them enjoy the freedom of being nude however they want to.

I'd call you "a woman who knows what she wants and doesn't care if others doesn't share the same way of thinking". Which I think is good. :)

I agree with you about the labels question. I've also had conversations on several occasions about the question of whether a sauna or other facility should be naturist or clothing optional. Some of those I've talked about this with always want a place to be naturist. I'm happy if a place is clothing optional, and have found that generally (not always) clothes optional places tend to be friendlier (with one exception, a place I don't visit anymore). I also feel that as the first time nude in a public place can be nervous for anyone, having CO makes it easier as there is no compulsion. Friends who for one reason or another are unwilling to be nude can come along as well.
